Q & A

Q & A

Find out what you need to know from our private investigators.

We've outlined some of the most common questions our private investigators receive. Our team understands that many folks are brand new to the process, and the more information you're provided with, the more comfortable you'll feel working with us at East Coast Investigations, Inc. Our private investigators work within the Fairfax, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Northern Virginia areas. You can rely on us to get to the heart of the matter, wherever you are.
Q: I've never hired a private investigator before. What do I need to do?
A: Few people have ever hired a private investigator. Tell us what is going on that inspired you to call us. Be open. What you tell us will be held in confidence. You will find us patient, understanding, helpful, and empathetic.
Q: Do I pay before the investigation starts or when it is completed?
A: A retainer is required before an investigation starts.
Q: Can you explain the retainer?
A: The amount of the retainer is based upon services requested. The payment of the retainer initiates the investigation. All costs are deducted from the retainer during the investigation.
Q: How often is a person wrong about their spouse having an affair?
A: Seldom. People suspect their loved one for a reason. The client is almost always proven correct.
Q: Can they find out that I am having them investigated?
A: Not from us. We will only release information concerning an investigation to our client or with our client's permission or request or with a court order.
Q: When will I know what you find out in the investigation?
A: We update you concerning our investigative findings as soon as possible.
Q: How do you get the information to me?
A: We can provide the information via phone, text, fax, or e-mail. We always inquire about the most secure communication option.
Q: What payment options do you have?
A: You may pay by credit card, check, cash, or money order.
